HotColdHaven is free to read and reader-supported. We make money in two ways: through affiliate commissions when you buy a product via some of our links, and by selling certain accessories directly. Either way, it costs you nothing extra, and — this is the part that matters — it never influences our recommendations or rankings.

Affiliate links

Many of the product links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, the retailer or brand may pay us a commission, at no additional cost to you — you pay exactly the same price you would otherwise. We participate in affiliate programs run directly by brands and through affiliate networks. Affiliate and sponsored links are marked with rel="sponsored" in our code, and we flag commercial links in the text where appropriate.

Products we sell directly

For some lower-cost accessories (such as everyday sauna and cold-plunge gear), we may sell products directly rather than link to a third party, and we earn a margin on those sales. When that’s the case, it’s a straightforward retail purchase from us. We keep these items separate from our independent editorial rankings — we don’t award an item a “best” spot in a roundup simply because we profit more from selling it. Our buying guides rank products on merit; our accessory and gift guides are clearly commercial.

How this affects you: it doesn’t

This is the most important section. Our commercial relationships do not change:

• What we recommend — we choose products on merit, not on payout.
• How we rank them — a higher commission never buys a higher position. Where a cheaper or commission-free option is the better choice, we say so — and we regularly tell you what to skip.
• The price you pay — affiliate links never cost you more.
